The Fight

Written by Madeleine Yorke Gambhir (age 8 and 1/2)

It all started the night before the best Halloween. I did not even know it yet.  I was still in my real cool robot suit. I can control the robot from inside. I was tired after saving the world from a very rood Dracula! I was so sleepy I slept in my robot suit.

I slept for all of 2 seconds. Just then I got an emergency call from Hoppy my talking pet bunny. I got Hoppy from my trip to the Super Pet Shop.  He said, “Captain Creepy and Spider Boy are back.”  Then the line went buzz buzz… … …crackle crackle… … … and a mean voice cut into the wiring and said, “Meet me at the junkyard in 10 minutes to fight!”

I was so shocked I didn’t know what to do except go. But I didn’t want to go. I can tell you that but I had to!  When I got to the junkyard all I said was “P.U.” Then I said, “Wow,” because it was Captain Creepy, Spider Boy and a lot of junk. This stunk and I don’t mean the garbage!  But that had a strong stench too.

“Ready to fight,” Captain Creepy said.

“Yes,” I said.

“Then lets rock, paper and scissors the evil way.”

Unfortunately Captain Creepy won 2 games and I won 1 game. Captain Creepy did rock the first time and I did scissors.  He crushed my scissors.  Then when I did rock he did paper.  “You are good,” I said.

“Best out of 5,” I said, “and no more.” Fortunately I won the next three. I covered his rock with paper, I smashed his scissors with a rock, and I cut up his paper so that it looked like a paper snowflake.  I was so surprised. He was too. And Captain Creepy and Spider Boy left without an “I will be back some day.” Weird.
